About Dr. Baron
Dr. Howard Baron brings a wealth of experience and expertise to PGNA, where he has been a dedicated member since 1993. With board certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Dr. Baron is committed to providing his young patients the highest level of care.
A respected academic, Dr. Baron serves as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine (UNLVSOM) and as an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at Touro University School of Osteopathic Medicine. His contributions to medical education and clinical training are well-regarded, with over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of pediatric healthcare.
Dr. Baron completed his medical education at the University of Minnesota Medical School, followed by an internship and residency in Pediatrics at the same institution, where he also served as Chief Resident. He further honed his expertise with a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Baron's clinical interests are diverse and focused on improving the lives of children with complex gastrointestinal conditions. He specializes in Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Pediatric Intestinal Motility Disorders, and Eosinophilic Esophagitis. He is also highly experienced in the use of biologic agents for treating intestinal inflammatory diseases.
Dedicated to both his patients and his field, Dr. Baron continuously seeks to enhance the quality of care through innovative treatments and quality improvement initiatives. His compassionate approach and extensive knowledge make him a trusted physician and an invaluable asset to the PGNA team.
Dr. Baron has been awarded the Distinguished Physician Award and Community Service Award, as well as the Robert Shrek Award by the Nevada State Medical Association and the Harold L. Feikes Award by the Clark County Medical Society. He is a past president of both organizations.
Dr. Baron and his wife raised two children in Southern Nevada, and he enjoys spending time with them and his grandson.
